Grading results from Japan

March 28th, 2010 No comments

Hi Everyone,

As many of you know Sensei Charles is over in Japan this week with a contingent of Senior Instructors grading for his 4th Dan.

Yesterday after a gruelling grading which involved kata, bunkai and kumite he was award his 4th Dan by Kawata Sensei, a significant achievement and of course the first 4th Dan ever in our dojo.

According to Sensei Paul, his perfromance was outstanding and he has got the grade with flying colours.

Sensei Charlies is aiming to be back in town by Thursday at the latest so we’ll get a full account of all the thrills and spills then. There’s also a chance we may be able to get our hands on the video footage of the grading, which we’ll put on the website, when available.

Lets make sure we all congratulate him for reaching this significant milestone upon his return ;-)

Karate Humor

We often forget that the main reason we keep training is because it is actually a lot of fun. Here are some Karate one liners that I am sure we’ve all heard at one time or another, there’s a nugget of truth in each, but they’re good for a giggle! ;-)

1. “Pain is just weakness leaving the body!”
2. “C’mon you guys, my grandmother is faster than that!”
3. “Did you ever hear of the slowest gunfighter in the west?”
4. “The only privilege of being a black belt is wearing it!”
